Pt. Bholanath Mishra has been initiated into this field of Hindustani classical music by his beloved mother Late Smt. Chandravati Devi. His formal training in vocal music started under his father, Late Pt. Rakhal Mishra. He was then tutored by his elder brother, Pt. Dinanath Mishra in Kolkata. He was indeed priviledged to be under the able guidance of Pt. A.T. Kanan, Sangeet Research Academy I.T.C. He has also been under the guidance of , Pt. Rajan and Sajan Mishra of Benaras Gharana.

 

Bhola Nath Mishra belongs to a rich heritage of traditional music which has a 300-year-old lineage in Indian classical Music. He is the eighth generation member of his household carrying forward the tradition. Since his childhood, he has been interested in the field of Hindustani vocal singing . He is adept in playing instruments like Harmonium, Tabla, Sur Mandal, Tanpura Etc. After facing several hurdles since his childhood, today he has reached this destination. He is a Top Graded artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan. He is also carrying forward the Guru Shishya Parampara by training many students. These students have also prospered through performances and are academically placed in various cities of India and abroad in government, semi-government, private sector like, School, College, University Etc.

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) has facilitated his concerts across numerous countries, including England, Austria, Spain, Germany, and the U.S.A., where he has left an indelible mark. He has conducted lecturedemonstrations and workshops for various academic and cultural institutions, such as SPICMACAY, IRCEN, and Kathak Kendra, New Delhi. Through these initiatives, he strives to foster a greater appreciation of Hindustani Classical Music among diverse audiences, blending tradition with contemporary relevance.

 

Pt. Bholanath Mishra possesses a captivating musical personality, complemented by a melodious, nuanced, and profoundly textured voice. His artistry is a testament to his versatility and depth, as seen in his exquisite renditions across diverse forms of Hindustani Classical and semi-classical music. His Khayal performances are marked by beautifully rendered expositions, vibrant compositions, intricate and fluid taans, and an innate ability to engage and transport his audience.Equally remarkable are his renditions of semi-classical forms such as Purab Ang Thumri, Dadra, Kajri, Chaiti, Hori, Jhoola, and Barahmasi, which bring the essence of regional traditions alive. His repertoire also extends to evocative Ghazals and deeply soulful Bhajans, leaving listeners mesmerized by his emotional depth and technical brilliance.
